Toothed belt pulleys

General information

Toothed pulleys (ribbed gears) are drive elements for gear belts with transverse notches on their outer shell. The profile of the notches on the outer surface is completely identical to the profile of the corresponding toothed belt, i.e. their division and the shape of the etchings fit exactly to the given toothed belt. Therefore, it is not recommended to use a different type of toothed pulley in the drive, because the toothed belt used will fail prematurely even if their division matches the profile of the pulley of the other profile.

With the help of toothed belts/toothed belt discs, a non-slip (so-called positive switching) drive can be created, since the rubber belt clings mechanically to the ribbed wheel in the same way as, for example, the roller chain clings to the sprocket. Toothed belt discs are available in both flanged and rimless versions. Their width determines the width of the toothed belt that can be used. Custom width dimensions can be created from racks and pinions by cutting.
